iRemember

Fatherhood has never been easier
Specially when you have a son like me; and you busier
You chose to give me
And my siblings
Ola, Ethel and Otavie
What no one would; the way

I remember my first colour box
Carried it all over like chicken pox
Back in Junior Secondary
(I was the first pupil to ever have one)

I remember the very many clothes
Shoes, pocket money and paper boats

Ooohhh...
I remember my first mobile phone,
I was in J.S 3

I remember your kisses on my cheek
How I sat on your lap and touched the beard on your cheek
I was four then
I remember you cooked porridge yam and killed a hen
When mummy first went to the hospital
I was eight; and enjoyed it in total

I remember saying 'No' to your many instructions
Yet you stood by me; on my skin applying lotions
Those instructions made me the man that I have grown into
Not little

Every second I look back
The memories ; the flash backs
The many ways you loved us
Deep and affectionate plus more
I just love you more
And pray that God grace you
With more of divine strength and divine wisdom too.
You, (quietly) are my hero. I love you.
Happy Birthday Daddy
Eighty-one and still counting.
