What Love Is This?
Ah! Life,
Like a drop of water in a pool,
I hear the hullabaloo,
Suddenly overcoming the huddles of sterility,
It's time to bring forth a buxom community,
“Push! Push!!”
The mid-wife shouted,
With gnashed teeth she winked,
And then, “n’gei n’gei”
Came forth the innocent cry of that buxom race,
Unnoticed,
She was born in sin,
She grew into an untrue teenager,
“You are not fit to be in this church”
Her pastor's wife chanted,
Then she transformed,
Into a backstabbing, ferocious, unfaithful wife,
Alas! Never tolerated,
“tufiakwa! tufiakwa!”
Chanted her church members,
“Why can't she change?”
Shouted her neighbors,
“She must leave our brother's house”
Muttered her in-laws,
“If only you correct in love”
God whispered,
Her neighbors, in-laws, church members,
All are in God's body,
Yet refused to be the Christ that men see,
Rejected and frustrated,
With her hands she took her own life,
Finally, God muttered,
“If only my church would show my love”
“FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST HAS BEEN SHARED ABROAD IN OUR HEARTS”
And ours is to love as we are being loved.
But what love is this?
